UPLOADS
Your truss file should contain only one truss, be in DXF format and have one line for each truss member.
Uploaded CAD should be no more than 8MB Max.
CODES USED
National Construction Code (NCC), AS/NZS 4600 - Cold-formed steel structures (Section 7), AS 4055 - Wind loads for housing & others.
Assumptions: Residential Use
ASSUMPTIONS
Analysis considers Lip Cuts in profiles at connections except for sections where lips curve outwardly
Analysis does not consider Web Notches in profiles
Batten spacing for both roof and ceiling is assumed to be no greater than 1200mm. Effective length can be manually specified if required.
Additional reinforcing members are required where web notches are used at nodes
Analysis does not consider penetrations in sections apart from those required for connection fixings
GIRDER LOADSHARE
The point loads on a girder are calculated automatically given the 'Girder Distance' and 'Girder Loadshare' values. A visualisation of the way the Loadshare ratio works is below. Most scenarios should use a 0.5 ratio.
SECTION SIZES
Sections sizes supported are industry standard SSMA sizes, Standard Australian LGS C-sections and Scottsdale Sections.
CONFIGURATION
Configuration can be seen in the 3D render. The Standard configuration has lipped C-Sections with the web horizontal and fixings through the flanges. Back-To-Back has the webs vertical with fixings through the webs.
Reinforcement can also be added as shown in the diagrams below. To add reinfocement, list the section numbers in the reinforcement list seperated by commas.
FAQ
Q. How do I move the supports from the ends to that some members cantilever?
A. Use the Cantilever LHS and Cantilever RHS values. The support will 'snap' to the nearest node.
Q. What happens if there are gaps in my truss or lines don't connect?
A. The app will fill in gaps and join lines as logically as possible. However it is always best to create accurate CAD linework to ensure the geometry reflects the final product.
